NR awards Crossrail GWML works

Network Rail has awarded Balfour Beatty a £64m contract to install overhead line electrification equipment on all four tracks of the Great Western Main Line between Stock-ley Junction and Maidenhead. Electrification of this 12•5 mile section of the GWML for Crossrail and Great Western services is due to commence on site in December, and is scheduled for completion in late 2016. The contract also includes supporting anciliary civils and power works.
