UK construction hurts Balfour Beatty

In an interim management state-ment covering the period from January 1 to May 13 2013, Balfour Beatty plc confirmed that 'a com-bination of difficult market condi-tions and poor performance' had resulted in a £50m reduction in the full-year profit expected for 2013 at the UK Construction business. 'Trading in our other businesses remains in line with our prior expec-tations in aggregate", said Balfour Beatty, 'despite a £10m shortfall in the German rail business'.
