RMT strikes in LU dispute

RMT members at London Underground began a 48 h strike at 21.00 on April 28. Fleet grades had been instructed not to book on for any shifts commencing after 18.30 on April 28, while further industrial action was due to commence on May 5. RMT is in dispute with LU over its plans to close all ticket offices and redeploy station staff 'in ticket halls, at ticket machines, on gatelines and on platforms', where according to LU they would be 'ready and available to give the best face-to-face service for customers'.
