Merseytravel funds Halton Curve studies

On January 16 Merseyside 1TA agreed that its executive Mersey-travel should fund studies into the full reinstatement of the Halton Curve, the 1-5 mile chord connecting Halton Junction on the Liverpool branch of the WCML with Frodsham Junction on the Chester - Warrington route. The curve is currently signalled for northbound traffic only, traversed by occasional freight services as well as a weekly passenger train running only in the summer.
