With the start of the direct award franchise (RBI482 p1) on September 20, First Great Western rebranded itself as Great Western Railway. 'The new branding is a modern adaptation of the traditional Great Western Railway look and feel, drawing on its 182-year-old heritage to inspire a new identity', said GWR, including new staff uniforms and a green livery for rolling stock.
