Eversholt Rail Group announced on March 2 that it had sold its wagon fleet to Nacco (UK) Ltd, a subsidiary of European wagon leasing company Nacco. The value of the transaction, completed on February 27, was not disclosed. The Eversholt fleet consists of 920 wagons, including coal and aggregates hoppers, box wagons, container flats and auto-ballasters used during track work. The sale also includes 63 'load units', 20 ft platforms that can be fitted to container wagons to convert them to conventional flat or box wagons. Eversholt Chief Executive Mary Kenny said that Nacco would provide 'a very good home for our freight wagon fleet. The sale will enable us to redeploy resources and focus on our core activities of leasing passenger rolling stock and freight locomotives', she added.
