East Anglia franchise to release 989 vehicles

Despite concerns over costs and finance following the Brexit vote, DfT confirmed on August 10 that the total replacement of the existing rolling stock fleet would still take place under the next East Anglia franchise. In its ITT, DfT had made clear the importance placed on new trains, with a 30% quality weighting for new rolling stock in the bid evaluation.
