Last resort fees capped

In a written answer given in the House of Commons, Transport Minister Claire Perry has provided further information on the consultancy contract let to replace Directly Operated Railways as DfT's operator of last resort under Section 30 of the Railways Act 1993. DfT has appointed a partnership of Arup, SNC-Lavalin Transport Advisory and EY (RB1502 p5). According to Perry, the contract is for two years from November 2015, with an option to extend for 12 months at DfT's discretion. Fees payable to the partnership are capped at £616 000 for the two years.
