City centre boost for Midland Metro

The extension of the Midland Metro to Birmingham city centre has increased traffic 'to record levels', according to Transport for West Midlands. In 2016 the light rail network recorded 6.6 million passenger-journeys, a 32% increase on the year before, and more than 7 million passenger-journeys are forecast for the period from June 1 2016 to May 31 2017.
