Chiltern Railways and Network Rail have agreed in principle to introduce a Connected Driver Advisory System on the route out of London Marylebone as a pilot project, insiders have confirmed to RBI. The whole Chiltern fleet has already been fitted with standalone DAS from Australian supplier TTG. This provides advice to drivers by comparing the train's actual position and performance with working timetable data, but it cannot take account of realtime conditions. Chiltern is currently using the Open Train Times graphical display to enable drivers to check the movements of other services.
