Texas Compact LLW Disposal Facility Buries First Waste Shipment

On April 27, Waste Control Specialists disposed of the first shipment of low-level waste sent to the Texas Compact Facility in Andrews County, Texas. The shipment received from Bionomics Inc., consisting of a small amount of medical waste, came a day after WCS received approval from the state regulator, the Texas Commission on Envi-ronmental Quality (TCEQ), to begin disposal operations at the compact facility.
