Well what a surprise, I find myself sitting at the trusty word processor writing about helicopters - only this time for a different magazine. Having had my own column in Model Helicopter World for some time now, I was asked if I would consider writing a series of articles on how to go about learning to fly model helicopters, including deciding what helicopter and radio equipment might be required -even which accessories are needed. I agreed to do it, so here I am writing the first article. Before I get any further in, I guess I had better introduce myself. My name is Richard Morris. I have been flying model helicopters now for about 20 or so years. These days I tend to fly quite a few scale models, but there was a time when all the machines I owned were of the pod and boom variety.
