Renegade was designed after a conversation with your editor, Tony van Geffen. In that discussion Tony asked if I would like to design a small pattern ship. As I had never designed such an a ircraft I was only too willing. I did some research into proportions and then drew up the model. Styling was based on some of my older designs. It looks attractive and different but is very easy to build. The wings were designed on my new Compufoil program. This is a massive program and I am still finding my way round it but it produced a perfect wing and even incorporated the U/C mounts, the holes for the servo lead tubes and the tabs for building a symmetrical section wing flat on the board. I designed the model to take one of my trusty SC 32 engines. This is my all time favourite engine, powerful, reliable, easy starting and a very reasonable price. It would fly well on a good .25 cu in engine, but a .35 would be the maximum.
