Multiplex M-LINK Telemetry

I was very impressed with both the telemetry concept, and with Multiplex's typically neat and well thought out implementation. For the non-technical modeller, the simplicity of the M-LINK system is beguiling. Even without any external sensors at all, the benefits in terms of safety and convenience are compelling. Advanced modellers can extend the system simply by plugging external sensors as needed. There are some caveats though. To get the best out of the sensors, some further work is required to configure them. Also, while the transmitter has an excellent display, care is necessary when viewing and flying. This becomes more of a problem as you add more sensors. In general terms, the human interface is one area where more work needs to be done to make telemetry more accessible. However, this is not so much a comment on the M-LINK implementation as of telemetry in general. In the final analysis, the M-LINK telemetry works very well, and adds to both enjoyment and safety. M-LINK comes at a price, but for many pilots the premium will be worth it.
