When we first flew the E-flite VisionAire (reviewed last month) we knew we had come across something special. In fact we were so impressed with the flight performance of the Quique Somenzini designed '3-D Trainer' that we immediately asked Horizon Hobby for a separate AR635 receiver to test in an existing model. There was no doubt in our minds that the AR635, with its built-in AS3X three axis stabilisation system, was going to bring a new dimension to R/C model flying and we wanted to see if it would bring its remarkable control stability, combined with extreme agility, to an existing aerobatic ARTF.Unbeknown to us, Horizon were way ahead of our thinking and had already lined up their brand new Splendor F3A style aerobat for us to review. This arrived the day before our departure for Nuremberg to cover the annual Toy Fair, so rather frustratingly we had to wait several days to open the box and to examine the sleek model aeroplane inside.
