Claude Piel designed the C.P 30 Emeraude as a side-by-side two-seater; this was followed by the Super Emeraude with a bigger engine, blown canopy and some small dimensional changes to improve its aerobatic capabilities. This was the basis for the Avions Mudry CAP 10B, also a side-by-side two-seater. At the same time a single seat version of CAP10 was produced, the CAP20. This was followed by the CAP21 and so on down the CAP line. Piel's designs were licensed out to many different manufacturers who often added their own modifications.
