JOIN THE CLUB

This column, being titled 'Join the Club', aims to look at this hobby from a typical clubman's perspective. And for many enthusiasts joining a model flying club was their first step on the road to success, as it was for me. The first club I became a member of was South Leeds Aero Modellers Society in West Yorkshire. That was back in the '70s, some forty odd years ago. I still have memorabilia from that club, and others, such as badges with the club logo on them. When you join your local club you take advantage of the combined knowledge of the more experienced members, as well as the use of a legal flying site.
