Black soils and black sediments-Archives of landscape evolution

摘要

Recently, black colored soils and sediments have become an intensely discussed issue in Quaternary research. Some researchers have questioned the traditional view on the formation of black soils, which almost exclusively links the black color to humic substances as the sole product of humified plant residues. The homogenous distribution of soil organic matter in the solum is explained by mixing processes, i.e. bio- and peloturbation, which resulted in translocations into the subsoil. Most of these ideas go back to the concept of formation of Eurasian black soils, i.e Chernozems, by V.V.
