Carozza et al. (2012) present data on a unique archaeological site discovered by a team of Romanian archaeologists in the Danube delta in the 1990s. While they provide important new information on geological and human history of the region, the authors appear to use two dates from one of our previous publications (Giosan et al., 2006) out of their morphostratigraphic and geographic context, leading to erroneous interpretations.
