CEMEX exploring sale of assets

CEMEX have announced that they are to explore the sale of certain European assets in Austria and Hungary, as well as select building products businesses in the UK.The Austrian operations under consideration consist of 26 aggregate plants (7.1 million tonnes sold in 2007) and 39 ready-mixed concrete plants (2 million m~3 sold in 2007). Last year these assets generated revenues of approximately US$274 million. The Hungarian assets comprise five aggregate plants (1.8 million tonnes sold in 2007), 31 ready-mixed concrete plants (0.8 million m~3 sold in 2007) and five paving stone plants. Revenues from these assets were approximately US$84 million in 2007.
