New F-series Volvo loaders land at Day Aggregates

Day Aggregates Ltd of Brentford, Middlesex, have taken delivery of five new F-series Volvo wheel loaders for their rail-linked, factory-concept aggregates and recycling centres across London and the south-east of England. The four Volvo LI80F loaders and one LI IOF follow hard on the heels of two 36-tonne excavators delivered at the end of 2006 and will replace five-year-old loaders that have clocked up in excess of 13,000h. Taking charge of the stockyards at the company's recycling and aggregate facilities, the recently launched LI80F loader is equipped with 4.5m3 rehandling bucket and powered by a 12-litre Volvo engine that develops 320hp at just 1,400 rev/min.The Tier Ill/Stage 3 low-emission engine delivers high torque at just above tickover, giving the new loader excellent rimpull and low fuel consumption, as well as a significant reduction in noise levels compared with the E-series version.
