Compost trial proves a success at Dunbar Works

WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) has published the results of a recent trial that investigated the use of BSI PAS 100 compost in the progressive restoration of a quarry in Scotland.rnLafarge Cement's Dunbar Works, in East Lothian, excavates more than 3 million tonnes of limestone each year. Although progressive restoration follows this process, on-site topsoil is sandy, stony and nutrient poor, rendering land restoration to a good agricultural standard challenging.
