Shropshire-based concrete and aggregates company Tudor Griffiths Ltd have acquired four ready-mixed concrete plants in Aberystwyth, Bangor, Newtown and Wrexham from CEMEX UK for an undisclosed sum. All staff at the four plants have transferred to the new owners.. Cornwall Council has granted planning permission for E & JW Glendinning Ltd to expand and deepen Pigsdon Quarry, near Bude, and to create a new mineral spoil tip adjacent to the site. 6-6 QPANI appeals for support for safety message Following last months tragic events at Paul's Quarry, near Annalong, in Co. Down, the Quarry Products Association Northern Ireland (QPANI) has appealed for support in getting the important message out to young people, particularly teenagers, that quarries, whether they be old and disused or operational sites, are not fun places to play in and that by entering such sites they place both their own and their friends lives at risk.
