Health and safety first at Hanson

On Tuesday 5 April, all of Hanson UK's operational sites and sales offices stopped work for two hours between 7am and 9am to carry out a series of safety-related activities. The initiative, part of the company's ongoing commitment to health and safety, was designed to get all employees thinking about their own safety, and the safety of colleagues, contractors and visitors. Hanson's target is zero harm and the company has established a comprehensive range of procedures - including safety conversations, near-hit reporting and site meetings - to help create a safe working environment and eliminate accidents.
