Extension granted Staffordshire County Council has granted planning permission for NRS Ltd to extend Saredon Quarry, near Cannock. The new consent, issued on 3 July 2018, allows a further 1.5 million tonnes of sand and gravel to be extracted, together with associated inert infilling operations. Access allowed NRS Ltd have signed a Section 106 Agreement with Shropshire County Council allowing the development of an access road to a new greenfield site. Woodcote Wood Quarry, near Telford, is due to open next month and has reserves of around 3 million tonnes of sand and gravel.
