SP Newsprint announces new production curtailments

SP Newsprint Co., LLC, has announced further curtailments to newsprint production. The company, a subsidiary of U.S. White Birch Paper Company, plans to temporarily suspend production on PM 5 at its Newberg, Oregon plant with effect from 18 June 2009. The site produces around 150,000 t of newsprint annually. The duration of the planned downtime was not disclosed. SP Newsprint announced that production on PM 6 in Newberg will continue as normal.
