AbitibiBowater sells decommissioned mills

AbitibiBowater has completed the sale of four decommissioned paper mills and two sawmills. The Beaupre, Donnacona, and Dahlhousie paper mills are passing into the hands of the US steel scrap recycler American Iron & Metal Company Inc. (AIM) for CAD8.7m (roughly €6.9m). Two sawmills and planing plants, the Mackenzie newsprint plant, commercial timberland, and the licence for felling some 933,000 m~3 of timber per year are being bought by the Canadian forestry company Conifex Inc. for CAD33.9m (roughly €27m).
