China imposes definitive antidumping duties on brown sack kraft paper from the EU, Japan and USA

The trade dispute between economic giants China, USA, Japan and the EU is poised to enter the next round. The bone of contention is brown kraft sack paper and this time it is China which seeks to protect the domestic by introducing antidumping duties. On 10 April, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) decided to impose definitive antidumping duties on imports of unbleached sack kraft paper from the European Union, Japan and the USA. The duties range from 14.9% for US and 20.5% for Japanese manufacturers up to 29.0% for certain European suppliers. They apply to extensible and semi-extensible, highly porous, unbleached sack kraft paper weighing 115 g/m~2or less. According to the Chinese government, the antidumping duties are valid for the next five years starting from 10 April 2016.
