In the first quarter of the current year Sodra was able to markedly improve its operating result against the background of a massive rise in pulp prices and higher sawn timber prices. The increase from SEK227m in the comparable 2020 period to now SEK547m corresponds to growth of more than 140 per cent. Group sales rose by 3 per cent to SEK5.73bn (Q1 2020: SEK5.58bn). Sodra started a new internal efficiency enhancing programme during the first quarter and also founded its Innovation business area. The aim is to intensify the company's focus on its existing business while at the same time to develop new products. Moreover, Sodra acquired a new sawmill and anew timbertreatmentfacility in the first quarter of this year.
