Shape characteristics of non-spherical black liquor droplets

The size and shape of the droplets sprayed into the furnace of a recovery boiler have a paramount effect on the combustion and flight-path characteristics of black liquor droplets.In this study methods to characterize spray droplets and experimental data of essential particle characteristics are presented.Shape factors for heat and mass transfer,and drag coefficient are presented based on the experimental spray data.
