The EPA on February 6 withdrew its proposed regulations to reduce the occurrence of sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs). The EPA adopted the rule January 5 but withdrew it to allow new EPA Administrator Christine Todd Whitman, formerly the Republican governor of New Jersey, an opportunity to review it.
