Local government responds to land freight network proposal

Submissions from four local government associations and councils from New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia are among more than 60 responses lodged regarding Infrastructure Australia's proposal to establish a national land freight network.The proposed network would include sea ports and airports. It would address issues such as interoperability between infrastructure networks, the integration of freight and land use planning and capacity for growth across Australia.The local government submissions are from the ALGA, the Local Government and Shires Associations of NSW, the Local Government Association of SA, the WALGA and Bankstown, Blue Mountains, Botany Bay, Geraldton-Greenough, LaTrobe, Lismore, Mildura, Port Augusta, Wagga Wagga, and Waneroo councils.
