Our relationships with kindred industry bodies are important to our success. We each have different strengths and external relationships and when we draw on these it can be a powerful formula. Politics aside, the groups have more alignment than one might think. This was reinforced for me recently at the annual IPENZ Forum, where we workshopped what it means to be 'professional', and I represented IPWEA NZ at the Engineering Leadership Forum. So, what did we agree were the key elements of being a 'professional'?
