Noah Yarbrough, now a manager of procurement and materials at PacifiCorp, left the U.S. Air Force in June of 2014 after ten years of active duty. Though he has remained in the Air Force Reserves and has been nearly as active in military service since, in assignments such as helping to develop the supply chain for the F-35 Lightning Ⅱ stealth fighter both domestically and at Kadena Air Base in Japan. This transition to a civilian, albeit one with a continuing involvement in our national defense, was a definite change of lifestyle. In the service, there are stable expectations. So, for Yarbrough, making the decision to leave active duty was hard... And he threw himself into civilian life. Learning how to deal with others outside of the military was different to say the least. Once he had gotten used to it, after a couple of years, he secured a job at the Defense Logistics Agency, as a material skills technician.
