FCC Chair Pai Retires, Broadband Revolution Continues

The PUF team had the opportunity in May to interview this Chair of the Federal Communications Commission, Ajit Pai, who is now retiring. He was just coming off of a landmark order of the Commission, making a swath of spectrum available to our industry so we can develop private LTE broadband networks. Which we really need, if only to insulate our networks - as best we can - from the Wild West otherwise known as the Internet, and all the bad guys who hang out there. Now that Chair Pai is leaving the FCC, we asked one of the experts in utility industry broadband to reflect on what the FCC has accomplished and the road ahead for our industry. PUF's Steve Mitnick: You're new to Anterix, you recently joined? Chris Guttman-McCabe: I did. I've been working with Morgan O'Brien [executive chairman] and the team at Anterix for almost six years. At the beginning of October, I joined as the chief regulatory and communications officer for the company to help with advocacy before federal and state governments, and also to help with communications efforts.
