Consumer Electronics Show Consumer Devices Have Public Safety Potential

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) comes to Las Vegas every January, and this year there was an overflowing crowd of 150,000 attendees eager to view the latest in electronics. Most of the products shown at CES are designed for the average consumer, but Public Safety Communications browses the aisles to see what products could be utilized by police, fire rescue and 9-1-1 officers. The focus of this year's show seemed to be on wearable electronics. In addition to many body-worn video systems, some of which could be easily adapted for public safety use, there were a few noteworthy items, including many types of drones.
