H. George Frederickson as Exemplar of 'The Skill Set of the Successful Collaborator'

Providing commentary on "The Skill Set of the Successful Collaborator" is a very agreeable task. Rosemary O'Leary, Yujin Choi, and Catherine M. Gerard provide a well-written, nicely organized article based on well-executed survey research, which consisted of an online questionnaire for members of the U.S. federal government's Senior Executive Service, along with 12 follow-up interviews. The authors position this study within the existing literature in a careful and comprehensive way, and they are diligent and forthcoming in acknowledging its limitations, in particular the low response rate.
