Patientin mit einer doppelten Depression in stationärer psychosomatischer Behandlung

Summary: A unipolar depressive disorder had been phasically rnpresent in a 46-year-old female patient for many years, and had rnfrst manifested itself following completion of her studies rn approx. 10 years ago. She was admitted into a psychiatric unit rnshortly thereafter with the diagnosis of a moderate depressive rnepisode. Treatment resulted in complete remission. After a long rnepisode-free period, a severe depressive episode recurred three rnyears ago, directly after her brother‘s suicide. Treatment did not rnresult in complete remission. Since then four episodes have re-rncurred, but none remitted completely. Between the episodes a rndysthymia was continuously present. Te current relapse was rntriggered by a difcult, stressful, occupational situation and an rnadditional domestic confict. Te patient was admitted to the rnpsychosomatic hospital Bad Aussee. Based on the bio-psycho-rnsocial model, a multi-methodological and multi-modal psycho-rntherapeutic concept with a disorder-specifc treatment focus rnwas carried out. Under continuous psychopharmacological and rnpsychotherapeutic treatment with the addition of individual rncreative arts therapy as a nonverbal medium, the patient could rnachieve psychophysical stability with clear improvement in self-rnworth, recovery of employability and a clear reduction of the rndepressive symptoms.
