Headlines following the Building Better, Building Beautiful Commission's report suggest that the time of the retail park is nigh. However, the commission's recommendations that retail parks be redeveloped into mixed-use communities are ill-conceived. Having recently completed four new-build retail park projects, our experience suggests that the death of the retail park has been exaggerated, We have also been appointed to several retail park facelifts where landlords are looking to improve and enhance their assets, rather than repurpose for alternative use.
