In January, expectations were that the year ahead would be interesting - exciting even - but not scary. The EU referendum would be close, but common sense would prevail. The Donald Trump candidacy was seen as a mere sideshow. Meanwhile, in the property world, pricing was getting a bit toppy but the feeling was that investment volumes, values, rents and the housing market would generally hold up.
