Green REIT is taking a cautious stance on leverage and development after rapidly building a portfolio valued at nearly €lbn (£734m). Speaking after the Irish company's annual results. Green REIT's Pat Gunne said it was unlikely to push gearing much beyond 25%, which is well below its stated objective of not exceeding 35%. "We don't feel we need to drive up leverage to enhance returns," he said. "We don't want to increase risk with yields close to cyclical lows and rents close to cyclical highs."
