Canada's Sandman brings dreams to Gatwick

Canadian group Sandman is the latest North American hotel brand to land in the UK with expansion ambitions. London, Manchester, Aberdeen and Edinburgh all feature in Sandman's plans to roll out its three-, four- and five-star brands, says Mitch Gaglardi, owner of the chain, which has more than 40 hotels in Canada. On 14 October Sandman bought its second UK property, near Gatwick airport, following its debut opening in Newcastle in 2011.
