City law firms get that shrinking feeling

More than 80% of law firms in London intend to reduce their property overheads and 45% plan to dispose of surplus space, a CBRE report seen by Property Week has found (graphs, below). Law in London, a survey of the 100 largest law firms in the capital, reports that 90% believe the Legal Services Act, which came into force last October, will have a big impact on the future of the legal sector. More than 75% thought the deregulation brought about by the act would lead to further mergers and acquisitions activity.
