David Hatcher reportsRamsey, a historic market town near Huntingdon with a population of 6,000, was built around a Benedictine Abbey in the 10th century. With its picturesque surroundings, it hardly seems the ideal place to develop a business park (see box).Yet this is what Abbey Properties, a local developer, wants to do. By the end of the year it will find out whether Huntingdonshire District Council will grant consent for a 195,000 sq ft scheme at St Mary's Road that has an estimated completed value of £20m.
