Blackstone is preparing an IPO (initial public offering) of two of its hotel brands, Hilton Worldwide Holdings and Extended Stay America. Blackstone bought Hilton for $26bn in July 2007. The private equity investor has now filed to float a minority stake in Hilton, which is expected in the New Year, in a bid to raise around $1.25bn. It will retain a majority stake to take advantage of the recovering hotel market.
