Commercial property investment hits record high

Investment in the UK commercial property sector totalled £20.5bn in the final quarter of 2014 - a 26% increase on Q3 and the highest quarterly performance on record, according to research by Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH). The performance in Q4 2014 propelled investment for the year as a whole to £59.6bn -18% up on 2013 and the second highest annual total on record after the £61.7bn posted in 2006. The upsurge was mainly driven by the performance of the London office market, said LSH, with investment in the sector more than double the levels in the previous quarter.
