Sungard Adds Borehamwood To Disaster Recovery Portfolio

Disaster recovery company SunGard has opened an 80,000 sq ft centre in Borehamwood in Hertfordshire. SunGard took an assignment of T-Mobile's lease at the Elstree Tower building. The mobile phone company has moved its staff to its Hatfield base. SunGard will pay a passing rent of around ￡25/sq ft.The deal is the region's largest for at least two years. Various London firms areset to take space in the building. SunGard's customers include the London School of Economics, as well as most large banks, which are looking for a location that will enable them to keep trading in the event of a disaster, such as the 7/7 bombings and the summer 2007 floods.
