MSHA Safety Alert Covers Boom Truck Operation

In recent years, MSHA reports that there have been two fatalities and one near-hit due to the inappropriate use of boom trucks. In the two fatalities, the victims were in the bucket when it was being used improperly, resulting in their ejection from the bucket. In the most recent serious accident, the operator attempted an improper lift, severely overloading the boom, which broke away from the truck and struck the victim in the head.
