First-Ever Regulations for Trucks & Buses

EPA and DOT announced the first national standards to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve fuel economy of heavy-duty trucks and buses. The new standards will help develop clean, fuel-efficient vehicles that will strengthen the economy. EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson says the standards will cut greenhouse gas pollution, shrink fuel costs for small businesses, shipping companies and communities. "Those savings can be invested in new jobs at home, rather than heading overseas and increasing our dependence on foreign oil," Jackson says.
