The Tissue Making Conference, hosted by Metso Paper, Metso Automation and Turbomach Industrial Energy Systems, took place in Karlstad, Sweden, on September 18-19, 2008. The theme was "Quality and energy efficiency in tissue making", which are topical issues tissue makers around the globe have in common. The first conference day showed eleven presentations about energy, global energy costs, different possibilities to save energy, brands and in particular the official launching of the new Advantage NTT technology, which combines high energy efficiency and significant improved bulk. During the second conference day the participants had the opportunity to see the Advantage NTT pilot machine running or to attend one of the parallel workshop sessions at the Metso Paper Karlstad Technical Center.
